A Quiet House

Gus went to the vet this morning to get neutered.  We actually didn't think that it would happen because he has had a sinus cold all weekend... think of a lethargic sick little 2 year old with a snotty nose and that is what Gus looked like.  I dropped him at the vet this morning, called back a few hours later and his surgery had been done.  He will be home tomorrow evening and will need antibiotics for the cold.

Since we had a "babysitter", Bob and I went out to dinner, ran a bunch of errands and I spent the rest of the evening making ice cream sandwiches.  We are having a potluck on Friday at work and our theme is "our favorite things" as an homage to Oprah.  I found a recipe online where you mix chocolate cake mix with eggs, vanilla, butter, chocolate chips and butterscotch chips.   This mixture makes up the cookies and once baked you put a big scoop of ice cream between each.  They are now in the freezer... we will see how they set.  If it turns into a disaster I will go to DQ and pick up replacement bars  :)

Oh no! I hope little Gus feels better. I remember getting Frank neutered...we had to put the cone on him and he always got so depressed about it!

You made ice cream sandwiches? How yummy! I need to do that some time. Take pics if they turn out well!!

Gus hasn't been able to reach the stitches so he won't need the cone. I am so glad too because the one that they gave us is huge!
They told us to keep him out of the wet but it's going to rain all week... so no playing outside and no walks for a bit.
